Healthy Living Days in Ankara on 26-30 June 2007..organised by Ministry of Health, Directorate General for Primary Health Services. The scope of the event was to inform people concerning primary health services. The promoter was also there to introduce the risks of toys, kinds of toy accidents, and Safety of Toys project. The promoter shared the stand with Pilsan who had the chance to present their cute products. They face to face interwieved with the visitors and distributed brochures.

SECOND MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETING IN EVORA

Second Management Committee Meeting has been held in Evora, Portugal on 2-4 May 2007. Apart from the project core team, there have been external participants as being Portuguese representatives of target group of the project. The topics of their speech were as follows: “Compulsory characteristics of toys to be commercialized” by Economic and Food Safety Authority (ASAE) (Competent Entity) “Toy role in the child development” by Department of Pedagogy and Education – University of Évora “Training importance as a accidents preventive measures: Priorities training areas” by Association for Promotion of Child Safety (APSI) “Measures of Child Safety in the Context of the Kindergarten “Jardim-de-Infância Nossa Senhora da Piedade” by Jardim de Infância Nossa Senhora da Piedade |
The project team derived considerable benefit from the corresponding debates with these respected participants. The University of Evora hosted the management committee for 3 days with its alluring prospect. At a distance of 130 km from Lisbon, lies the city of Évora. Due to part of the town which being enclosed by ancient walls preserved in its original state and, to its monuments dating from various historical periods, Évora is included in UNESCO's World Heritage list. Safety of Toys Project in Sociology Conference in Evora

A Sociology Conference has been realised at the University of Evora, in Portugal, in 27th and 28th of April. ACADEMUS presented a communication entitled Safety of Toys Issue in Portugal. In this communication it was presented the project Safety of Toys and some results from the Portuguese Country Report.

International Toy Fair 2007 in Nürnberg

Of the partners Pilsan, the toy manufacturer, & Italian Institute for Toy Safety (IISG), the notified body on toys, took part in “International Toy Fair 2007 in Nürnberg on 2-7 February” which has been one of the most important trade platforms for the global toy industry. Pilsan distributed Project’s informative leaflets along with their products which has been a significant step for valorisation so far, by means of disseminating Project objectives in European dimension.
